Prince William now patrons Wales Air Ambulance. His first patronage in Wales since becoming Prince of Wales in September.

The Prince has worked as a pilot for an air ambulance, so he knows how these first responders affect the lives of their patients.

Before he went to the charity's headquarters with Kate, Princess of Wales, he made the announcement.

The royal couple visited emergency workers, volunteers, and charity supporters.

Prince William's first move as charity patron was to advise emergency responders to prioritise mental health.

The Wales Air Ambulance Aftercare Service will use the new Patient and Family Room that Kate and William officially opened.

Since it began in 2001, the charity has done close to 45,000 missions. It works out of four air bases in Wales.

Before flying a patient to a specialist, the organisation provides advanced critical care, blood transfusions, anaesthesia, and emergency procedures.

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity Chief Executive stated the organisation is thrilled to have Prince Charles as its Royal Patron
